Note
The boats to and from the island run on a fixed schedule every month, so visitors should book in advance because tickets sell out very quickly. You can follow the boat schedule on the Binh Thuan Department of Transport’s information page in the announcement section.

According to experienced boat drivers, from Phan Thiet port to Phu Quy island is considered one of the most difficult sea routes in the country. The route has horizontal waves and many eddies, making it impossible for boats to go downstream but must overcome the waves to go. Therefore, the boat often shakes, making even healthy people susceptible to seasickness, especially on rough seas.

Because the sea route is difficult to travel, the boat staff will provide plastic bags in case of seasickness before departure. People with a history of motion sickness should take medicine and prepare many plastic bags.

The wind on the island is very strong, so wear neat clothes and keep your personal belongings secure when going out.

If you want to camp overnight, ask the homestay owner to get a permit in advance to complete the residency procedures.

The island allows foreigners to visit the island, but the number is limited so the permit procedure is quite long.
