Suoi Tien’s 30-year journey to becoming Vietnam’s iconic cultural tourist destination

Suoi Tien, a 105-hectare cultural theme park in Vietnam, originally a 6,600 sq.m python farm, has evolved into a popular destination for Vietnamese children and a symbol of the country’s entertainment industry.

This transformation is rooted not only in investment but also in a long-term vision: to preserve and promote Vietnamese culture while embracing innovation to remain contemporary.

Suoi Tien began as a 6,600-square-meter python farm producing snakes for export. Over time, it developed into a tourist attraction and eventually expanded into a cultural and entertainment complex.

Opened to the public on Sept. 2, 1995, the park offers a variety of attractions and extensive green spaces suitable for visitors of all ages.

For generations of Vietnamese, Suoi Tien has been regarded as “a part of childhood,” associated with family memories and lively summer festivals.

Spanning 105 hectares and featuring more than 150 attractions, the park has established a distinctly Vietnamese entertainment legacy, attracting over 5 million guests annually. Many of its attractions are recognized as leading destinations in the region.

The park’s founder, Labor Hero Dinh Van Vui, emphasized Vietnamese cultural identity from the outset. The park’s architecture, natural spaces, and artistic programs draw inspiration from Vietnamese legends, history, and well-known figures such as Lac Long Quan-Au Co, Hai Ba Trung, and Son Tinh-Thuy Tinh.

Despite the growth of the tourism sector, Suoi Tien remains committed to its mission of “returning to the roots of national culture,” offering a cultural park infused with Vietnamese spirit and fostering national pride.

Traditional values are presented in ways that are revitalized through modern technology, making cultural representations more vivid and appealing, especially to younger visitors.

Annual events such as the Spring Festival, the Southern Fruit Festival, and the Kathina Offering Ceremony continue to be celebrated with fresh approaches, preserving their original spirit while encouraging community participation.

Suoi Tien Theme Park invests continually in modern infrastructure, blending cultural elements with current entertainment trends to offer guests both familiar and new experiences.

Modern technology features prominently in attractions such as the VR Game virtual reality experience, Turbo Ride 12D Cinema, and free Wi-Fi throughout the park to enhance visitor convenience. The range of activities caters to all ages, including relaxing fish massages, exploring Crocodile Kingdom, and more adventurous options like the magic castle, zipline, dragon boat, and giant pendulum rides.

Suoi Tien Farm promotes green agricultural tourism by connecting visitors with nature and offering educational experiences in high-tech agriculture.

The park’s diverse restaurant system serves Vietnamese, Asian, and European cuisines, accommodating the growing dining needs of visitors. Together, these features have transformed Suoi Tien into a modern, welcoming, and culturally rich tourist destination with a strong national identity.

Suoi Tien will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Sept. 2, 2025, with a unique birthday event featuring a variety of festival activities and experiences.
