Air Asia has just increased the frequency of flights on the Kuala Lumpur – Phu Quoc route to 11 flights/week and Scoot has increased the frequency of flights on the Singapore – Phu Quoc route to 6 flights/week.
Previously, Air Asia operated the Kuala Lumpur – Phu Quoc route with a frequency of 7 flights/week and Scoot operated the Singapore – Phu Quoc route with a frequency of 5 flights/week.
According to a representative of Scoot airline, Scoot has recently recorded an increasing demand for Phu Quoc tourism, not only from Singapore but also from many countries around the world. “We are increasing the frequency of operations and want to bring more convenience to customers when planning their travel” – Scoot’s Sales Director in charge of the Vietnam market Lawrence Ho said.
Phu Quoc attracts diverse tourist groups
Meanwhile, an Air Asia representative said that both routes from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur to Phu Quoc recorded an average load factor of 85% in the first quarter of 2025. This reflects stable and positive demand from both the Malaysian and Thai markets, showing that Phu Quoc still maintains significant appeal. An Air Asia representative also commented that Phu Quoc attracts diverse tourist groups from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Australia, the United Kingdom, Russia and many other countries. The very good fares on Air Asia’s flights have also helped attract a large number of tourists from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur to Phu Quoc.
Phu Quoc welcomes a large number of foreign tourists every year, with more than 962,449 international visitors in 2024, an increase of 73.4% over the previous year. In addition, in 2024, Phu Quoc welcomed more than 5.9 million visitors to visit and experience. The number of tourists to Phu Quoc in 2024 increased by 7.1% over the previous year.
