Ho Chi Minh City has just come off one of its biggest tourism weeks of the year. The 20th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2026) closed its doors after three packed days at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center, and the An Vui Travel team is looking back on the event as one of our most productive showings yet.
Running from August 27 to 29 under the theme “Vibrant Connections – Global Destinations,” this year’s edition marked a milestone 20th anniversary for ITE HCMC, and it did so on the largest scale in the fair’s history. The event brought together more than 500 exhibiting companies, over 260 hosted buyers from more than 30 countries and territories, and tens of thousands of trade and public visitors across three days, alongside thousands of pre-scheduled B2B appointments and a series of regional tourism forums. For An Vui Travel, it was the perfect stage to reconnect with old partners, meet new ones, and take the pulse of where international travel is heading next.
Building Partnerships and Opening New Opportunities at ITE HCMC, 2026
ITE HCMC isn’t just an exhibition — it’s where Vietnam’s tourism industry meets the world, negotiates the year’s biggest partnerships, and sets the direction for what comes next. For An Vui Travel, standing on that floor at the 20th anniversary edition was an opportunity to do more than exhibit. It was a chance to position our brand where it belongs: at the intersection of authentic Vietnamese travel and the evolving expectations of the modern global traveler.
Over three days, our team met with international buyers, destination management companies, and tourism authorities from across Asia, Europe, and beyond. Every meeting was an opportunity to do three things well: deepen the trust we’ve built with existing partners, open new doors in markets where An Vui Travel has room to grow, and most valuably listen closely to what today’s traveler actually wants.

The Signal We Heard Loud and Clear: Slow travel, Deep local experiences
If one insight defined our week at ITE HCMC 2026, it’s this: the era of the checklist itinerary is fading. Buyer after buyer, from markets across Northeast Asia, Europe, and Southeast Asia, described the same shift in their clients’ expectations with fewer stops, longer stays, and a genuine hunger to connect with a place rather than simply pass through it.
This isn’t a passing trend. It’s a structural shift the entire global travel industry is now tracking. Recent international travel outlooks point to steady, measurable growth in demand for slow, intentional travel — long-haul travelers choosing extended stays over rushed itineraries, and a documented decline in appetite for curated tourist traps in favor of real, community-rooted experiences. The traveler of 2026 isn’t asking “how much can I see?” — they’re asking “how deeply can I feel this place?”
This is precisely the space An Vui Travel was built for.
From Conversations to Collaborations
Beyond the warm reception, ITE HCMC 2026 planted the seeds for several partnerships we’re excited to develop over the coming months. A number of buyers have already requested detailed proposals for custom slow-travel itineraries across Central Vietnam, the Mekong Delta, and the northern highlands, and we’re following up with sample programs, updated rate sheets, and site inspection invitations for partners who want to see these experiences firsthand.
We also came away with a sharper sense of how to talk about our products internationally. “Slow travel” and “Deep local experiences” aren’t just buzzwords on a brochure anymore — they’re a genuine market gap, and An Vui Travel is well positioned to fill it with itineraries that are already built around exactly that promise.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, sat down for a meeting, or simply asked good questions this year. We’re already looking forward to building on these conversations — and to seeing many of these new partners’ clients experiencing An Vui Travel’s tours in person soon.
