Vietnam recorded 17.68 million international arrivals in January–September 2026, up 14.5% year on year. Q3 contributed approximately 5.4 million (+13.8% YoY), while September reached 1.77 million (+16.1% YoY). Europe was the fastest growing source region (+55.0% over nine months), although Asia still supplied about three quarters of all visitors.
For Q4, the clearest product opportunities are northern cultural circuits, southern winter sun and long stay beach holidays, and flexible multi-region itineraries. Central Vietnam needs a weather contingency in October–November; beach conditions there cannot be assumed throughout Q4. These are Anvui Travel planning assessments, not destination-level forecasts.
1. Q3 performance
2. Source markets: Scale and Momentum
- Asia: 13.17 million visitors, about 74.5% of the nine-month total, +7.6% YoY. China (about 3.9m) and South Korea (about 3.0m) remained the two largest markets. Southeast Asian growth was broader: the Philippines +55.2%, Cambodia +40.5%, Singapore +29.8%, Indonesia +25.5% and Malaysia +18.1%.
- Europe: +55.0% YoY, led by Russia at roughly 1.1 million arrivals and +160.6%. Poland (+49.0%), the Czech Republic (+26.6%), Switzerland (+25.7%) and Sweden (+23.6%) also expanded. This creates an opening for differentiated long-haul touring and winter sun products.
- Other long-haul: India reached approximately 505,000 (+33%); Australia approximately 485,000 (+21%). These nine-month figures describe origin-market demand, not Q3-only performance.
Notes:
YoY = year on year; QoQ = quarter on quarter; MoM = month on month.
Data cut-off: 6 October 2026. Rounded values and qualitative product recommendations are distinguished from official statistics.
3. Destination signals
There is no comparable official national Q3 ranking by destination in the cited data. The following signals combine local reporting and product relevance; they should not be read as a league table.
• Phu Quoc: more than 1.92m foreign visitors in Jan–Sep (+60.2%) and more than 8.57m total visitors. A new Krasnoyarsk–Phu Quoc service launched in late September, supporting a winter-sun sales push.
• Established touring anchors: Hanoi, Ha Long/Ninh Binh, Da Nang/Hoi An/Hue and Ho Chi Minh City/Mekong remain practical multi-stop combinations. Agoda repeat-visitor data put Da Nang, HCMC, Nha Trang, Hanoi and Phu Quoc in its H1 top five; this is a platform-specific signal, not total inbound volume.
4. Q4 outlook: Commercial scenarios
At 17.68 million arrivals through September, the gap to a 25 million annual target is 7.32 million, or about 2.44 million per month in Q4. That monthly run rate is about 35% above the Q3 average (~1.8 million). The target therefore requires a substantial seasonal acceleration; it is a planning stretch, not a forecast.
5. Anvui Travel partner actions
• Launch three Q4 modules: North (Hanoi–Ninh Binh–Ha Long), South (HCMC–Mekong–Phu Quoc), and a flexible Central (Hue–Da Nang–Hoi An) with indoor alternatives and realistic weather language.
• Build two durations: 5–7 nights for regional and Indian family/MICE demand; 10–14 nights for European, US and Australian multi-destination travel.
• Protect delivery: reconfirm flights, hotel space, cruise availability and storm-related substitution terms before quoting peak dates.
• Refresh the dashboard monthly: origin-market arrivals, route changes, conversion by itinerary, and destination-specific hotel availability.
Anvui Travel works with B2B travel partners on tailor-made FIT and group programmes across Vietnam and neighbouring destinations.
